SHE LEADS was established in March 2023 by Pamela Margaret Newa, who holds a Master’s in International Relations with a double major in Development Studies from the United States International University in Kenya. The organization was founded in response to the devastating impact of Cyclone Freddy on Malawi, highlighting the urgent need for sanitary products and support for affected women. Recognizing these challenges, Pamela created SHE LEADS to empower women and girls through education, agriculture, climate change, health, and entrepreneurship. Driven by the motto “Girls Who Lead Pave the Way for Equality,” the organization aims to harness the economic power of women, promote social inclusion, and foster community resilience. SHE LEADS envisions a sustainable future for Malawi, where empowered women and girls drive meaningful change and build a resilient society for generations to come.
